What we do

Simply put, we provide easier access to credit and multiple income streams for Private School Teachers and HigerEd Students. We put extra-income and finance in the hands of our members without making them put down collateral or take on the burden of debt that may threaten their financial wellbeing. We do this by promoting a more inclusive form of ownership — businesses that are collectively run and owned by our members — and tying loan returns to project success to minimize risk, both for our education fund and the enterprises we help thrive.

CampusCredit Cooperative is a educator-driven consumer cooperative enterprise which originated from a group of students from the Post Graduate School, Institute of Education, Delta State University, Abraka.

The objective is to engineer a value-chained cooperative enterprise within the education sector in Nigeria- that caters for the financial needs of her principal stakeholders (Teachers and HigherEd Students); and to promote the cooperative movement (within the education sector) as a tool to achieving #SDGs 4, 8, and 12.

  • I have been hearing of cooperatives but have not really been interested. When I heard of this one, I thought it was just one of those normal cooperatives where you contribute money and contributors rotate collection of the contribution every month. As soon as I joined this one (CampusCredit) and started getting little little benefits, I knew this was different.

  • I always felt indomie was the most consumed commodity by students until I joined the Coops (CampusCredit) research team to do a survey on campus. It was an eye opening experience. I really learnt a lot.
